About Product Details Praise In this riveting follow-up to The Blood Gospel , the first book in the thrilling and atmospheric Order of the Sanguine series, New York Times bestselling authors James Rollins and Rebecca Cantrell deliver a tale of international adventure, intrigue, suspense, and supernatural mystery involving a modern scientist, a highly secret eternal spiritual order, and a terrifying power who must join forces to bring down a ruthless and cunning enemy and prevent the Apocalypse.

Let that suffice lest spoilers ruin the fun, except to say that the blood of the title is no accident. Not to be missed. James Rollins on Twitter Tweets By jamesrollins. Watched the German DVD of Innocent Blood [released as Bloody Marie ] because it's the only version that has all of the gore intact [on DVD, apparently the new bluray is also uncut], it had been at least 15 years since the last time I saw this and it held up, I remembered more cameos than what appeared here [Frank Oz, Dario Argento, Tom Savini], I must have mixed up some of the cameos in Garris' film from the same year, Sleepwalkers. This is a film that has the privledge of not only being one of the best mob flicks you've probably never heard of, but one of the best vampire flicks you've probably never heard of.

That's a badass combination if you ask me. It's the story of a vampire played by La Femme Nikita who has only two rules: don't get emotionally involved with "her food" and always finish the food, meaning don't make new vampires. In one night, she manages to break both rules and it puts her on a collison course with the mafia.

What I liked was how the film never takes itself TOO seriously. It's pretty fun and every now and then it's played for cheesy…. She kind of disappears from the story and comes back only to support LaPaglia! Quibbling, I guess, because the mob vampire story is a total lark stacked to the brim with great character actors Loggia is on fire!

Safely in the era of practical effects too, most of which are stunning. It's feels more like a Tales from the Crypt movie than Bordello of Blood! Daily Horror Scavenger Hunt 2 - August Watched this movie so many times as a kid. Not sure if the vampires drew me to it, or the mafia stuff.

Either way, it was a fun rewatch. Fun movie and return to something I used to like. It's a fun take on the vampire genre, but I get why this movie isn't praise that much, not even for being directed by John Landis.

"Innocent Blood" Trailer - English subtitled on Vimeo

Works better as an homage to horror tropes, than as an actual movie; specially for all the cameos. Film 26 of "52 Years In 52 Weeks " Week letterboxd. This was a film that I feel like I saw the poster, but never actually saw this film. The synopsis for this is Marie Anne Parillaud is a vampire with a thirst for bad guys.
